What Is Body Waxing

About Waxing
What is Waxing?
Waxing, or body waxing, is a simple and oh so fashionable method of hair removal that dates back hundreds, if not thousands, of years.
While no one is completely sure who started waxing hairy legs and eyebrows, both the ancient Egyptians and Indians (from India) lay claim to the idea. Whoever first figured out that a hard resin on the skin removed hair but not the skin, we salute you.
While there are some not so great ways to remove hair, waxing is the preferred method of semi-permanent hair removal here at ME Beauty – it’s cost and time effective too!
Our Glorious, Fearless Leader and Hair Ripper Outer decided years ago that we’d stick with what we’re most passionate about - making people feel fabulous with body waxing. Sure, we could have jumped on all those other hair removal bandwagons, but here at ME Beauty we know what we’re good at! But don’t just take our word for it, check out what some of our happy customers had to say <insert testies>
Is Body Waxing Right for Everyone?
Yes! Waxing is for everybody and, truth be told, most of the people that wax with us at ME Beauty are normal people that like to treat themselves just like you – you don’t have to be a perfect size 6 to be as smooth as a baby’s bum!
It can be weird being naked in front of someone you don’t know, but this too shall pass. We make you comfortable and promise that your waxing will be a fun and positive experience.
Bare Benefits of Body Waxing
Waxing offers some fantastic benefits compared with other hair removal methods. Let’s check ‘em out.
Waxing Lasts: Waxing is different from other hair removal methods because its results are semi-permanent – hair in waxed areas won’t grow back for 2 to 4 weeks. Compare this with stubborn stubble after shaving and you’ll begin to see why we’re wax evangelists.
Wax a Little, Wax a Lot: Let’s face it, it’s not easy to try and remove a large patch of hair at one time with a razor. You have to go over the area once, twice, (three times a lady!) or more just to get the results you want - and that’s if you can reach the spot on your own! With waxing you get precise control over how much or how little hair you need to remove.
Waxing Works: Areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time have regrowth that’s softer and finer – and the longer you wax the less frequently you’ll need to do it.
Waxing is Essentially (Eventually) Pain Free: The more you wax, the easier it gets. Body waxing pulls hair out at the root, not the surface like other messy painful methods. After the first few times you’ll be hooked and wonder why you didn’t ditch your razor sooner!
To Wax or Not to Wax, That is the Question!
If you want to wax in a clean, comfortable place that’s fun and professional, we’re the best!
Once you’ve decided to give waxing a whirl (or should we say a rip?!), you’ll want to make sure you’re only working with a reputable studio or a professional that specializes in waxing, someone that really knows their stuff! Just remember that not everyone that claims to wax is actually qualified to wax you – you need to make sure that they’re a professional. Know that you’re working with licensed estheticians that provide the service you’re looking for. Each studio and professional may specialize in only certain forms of body waxing, while others might offer a full rainbow of hair removal services.
When in doubt, ask your BFFs! Find out who’s waxing their downstairs (or their upstairs, if that’s what you’re looking for) and where they get theirs done. If none of your BFFs are waxing, start looking online. Read reviews from several sources and get a feel for the place before you swing by.
Always pick a neat and clean waxing studio – if the studio and work areas are clean and tidy, it’ll reflect in their service. The same is true for a messy and disorganized waxing studio.
Body waxing is a popular hair removal method that involves the application of warm wax to the skin, followed by the removal of the wax, along with the unwanted hair. This procedure is commonly done in beauty salons or spas and provides long-lasting results compared to other hair removal methods like shaving or using depilatory creams. Body waxing can be done on various parts of the body, including the legs, arms, underarms, bikini area, and even the face. The wax adheres to the hair follicles, allowing for a clean and smooth finish. While it may cause some discomfort during the process, the results are worth it as the hair takes longer to grow back and becomes thinner over time. Overall, body waxing is a popular choice for individuals looking for a hassle-free and effective way to remove unwanted hair.
